My Story

My career in hairdressing started 17 years ago in a small Winchester salon where I completed an apprenticeship after leaving school. Very early on in my training I was taken to assist the managing director at a wedding and from that moment on I was hooked.

I worked for many years offering a full-service list of cutting, styling and technical services but styling and dressing hair for occasions always remained my passion.  ​

I decided to go solo and started Alida K back in 2017, shortly after the birth of my 4th child. 

​

Alida K means I get to do what I love, as well as spend as much time as possible with my family and my beloved basset hound Mabel. 

Years on I have styled hundreds of brides, assisted on many photo shoots and am proud to have had work published in both magazines and blogs.

I love the adrenaline rush of seeing everything come together on a wedding morning from the dress, hair, make up & flowers, to the bride buzzing with a newfound confidence ready to walk down the aisle.

Its high pressure, exciting, completely incomparable to anything else and I absolutely love it!
